The room was nicely decorated and had everything I needed. For the price I paid, I got a room with a small kitchen and AC. It's in a great location along the coast between Cairns and Brisbane. 🌴

Castaways is a superb hotel in a stunning setting with a relaxed atmosphere. If we ever get the opportunity to return to Oz; we will be back.
It would have been nice to have a pick up from the Greyhound stop as you are dropped off late in the evening from Cairns. I would advise that you hire a car from the airport as public transport options are very limited.

The view was superb! Dinner was fantastic and delicious!Great chefs!!!
The staff most of the time had no idea what was going on. The dinner staff didn't know what a bottle of Moet was and made me feel stupid ordering one. The breakfast staff just ignored us totally and the receptionist was rude. But hey.... you get that!

the water temp of the swimming pool should be regulated, it was so cold we couldn't get a dip :(

The stay was brilliant for a 4-day visit with the perfect location close to restaurants, bars, and Sunday and regular markets within walking distance.

I liked the position of the hotel and the outlook from the room - a full uninterrupted view of a natural beach with fringing palms - these could not be bettered.
The bedroom was a little tired and needed minor maintenance but the reception areas and pool surrounds were extremely attractive. The buffet breakfast was rather sparse

The staff was very nice and helpfull and had a very relaxed beach style. The food was absolutely wonderful - very good value and a kitchen with a lot of ambition. Also the reception and restaurant was really nicely done.
